Google Workspace Directory Sync

Automatically sync users from your Google Workspace directory into AssetNode as employees.

Setup guide (7 steps)

Open Google Cloud Console

Navigate to console.cloud.google.com and select your organization's project.

Enable the Admin SDK API

Go to APIs & Services → Library. Search for "Admin SDK API" and click Enable.

Create a service account

Go to IAM & Admin → Service Accounts → Create Service Account. Name it "AssetNode Directory Sync".

Create a JSON key

Click on the service account → Keys → Add Key → Create new key → JSON. Download the key file.

This file contains your private key — store it securely and never commit to version control.

Configure domain-wide delegation

In Google Admin (admin.google.com) → Security → API controls → Domain-wide delegation → Add new. Enter the service account's Client ID and grant scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/admin.directory.user.readonly

Enter credentials in AssetNode

Go to AssetNode Settings → HR Sync section → Google Workspace. Paste the service account email, private key from the JSON file, and your admin email (for impersonation). Click Save.

Verify sync

After saving, AssetNode will begin importing users from your Google Workspace domain.

After completing setup

Users from your Google Workspace domain will be automatically synced to AssetNode.
Suspended users in Google Workspace will be marked as inactive in AssetNode.
Department and job title are synced from Google Workspace organization data.
